Rose Franck Quartet

As a quartet, and also as a duo, the golden age of jazz reinvented between classical, pop and Latin jazz. A familiar yet unprecedented experience.

Jazz has always been a welcoming, open and curious music, feeding on instrumental pieces as much as on songs from other horizons; Jacques Loussier revisiting Bach, Thierry Eliez paying tribute to the Beatles, Paul Anka making pop swing, Miles Davis reinventing Time After Time.

Rose Franck reverses this dynamic, propelling great jazz standards into the parallel universe of their imagination. Blending pop accents, harmonies inspired by early 20th-century classical music and world rhythms, Franck Monbaylet creates a setting for the voice of Rosa Ines, sensual and rich with her Latin American culture.

The second album, bolder still, offers original interpretations in Spanish, carried by a quartet with William Brunard on double bass and Frédéric Sicart on drums.

Born in Colombia, Rosa Ines Villegas grew up to the sound of salsa and bolero. After several Latin music bands, she embarked on the jazz adventure, singing with Bibi Louison, Thérèse Henri, Julie Saury, Jean-Pierre Ismael, Felipe Cabrera, Lukmil Perez and Rafael Paseiro.

Singer, lyricist and composer, she brings the warmth of her roots and of her tours as far as Mexico to her repertoire, with adaptations in Spanish.
