Rose Franck
It all takes place in a fictional cabaret, between 1936 and 2036, a quantum leap into the intimate, esoteric and glamorous space where the waves vibrate with jazz music from the 30s and 40s, mixing Latin, pop and classical ambiance, in English and in Spanish.
Of Colombian origin, Rosa Ines Villegas grew up to the sound of salsa and bolero. After several groups dedicated to Latin music, her path led her to meet musicians with whom she embarked on the jazz adventure. She then sang with Bibi Louison, Thérèse Henri, Julie Saury, Jean Pierre Ismael, Felipe Cabrera, Lukmil Perez and Rafael Paseiro. Her career as a singer, author and composer infuses her jazz repertoire with the warmth of her origins and her tours as far as Mexico, with Spanish adaptations of American standards from the 30s to 40s.
With pop accents, harmonies imbued with 20th century classical music or more ethnic rhythms, Franck creates a sonic setting around Rosa’s voice, sensual, strong and rich in her Latin American culture, giving these magnificent timeless songs a new aesthetic with original spanish versions.
Rose Franck has produced two albums and performs as a duo & quartet.
