Hands Feet Connection
Tap Dance / Piano.
The show represents the emancipation of a little-known art, that of Tap Dance, associated in the imagination of the general public with American musicals. Far from the formulas heard and in the same vein as the search for new instrumental horizons by jazzmen from the 50s, this duo breaks the codes of tap dance to play tap dancing as an instrument in its own right.
With a real musical proposal expressed in several aesthetics, with a classical, jazz and ethnic tendency, this show evokes images. This creation is intended to be poetic, sensual and inspiring. The desire to offer a sensory journey, based on a literary narrative framework and a worked scenography, is in line with that of going beyond the standard of the recital. It is a journey into the unknown, a journey where instinct is the guide and music, the compass.
A virtuoso tap dancer, musician dancer and choreographer, Aurélien Lehmann is an emblematic figure of contemporary Tap Dance. Revealed at the Théâtre du Châtelet during his show Tap Virtuoso, in duet with classical pianist François-René Duchâble, he has conquered the French and international public. Author, choreographer and performer of numerous musical shows such as Back to Tap, Rhythm on Fire and Soul Feet, Aurélien Lehmann combines elegance and musical virtuosity in his unique and contemporary style. As a musician, pianist, accordionist, singer and choreographer with multiple talents, he elevates tap dancing to the rank of musical interpretation instrument, exploring a repertoire ranging from jazz to classical music.
He performs on prestigious stages in France (Théâtre du Châtelet, Folies Bergère) and internationally (Festival de Las Ideas in Mexico, Birdland Jazz, etc.).
