The show celebrates the emancipation of a little-known art, tap dance, which the public mostly associates with American musicals. Far from the usual formulas, and in the same spirit as the jazzmen who sought new instrumental horizons from the 1950s on, this duo breaks the codes and plays tap as a fully fledged instrument.

With a genuine musical vision, classical, jazz and world-inspired, the show conjures images. Poetic, sensual and inspiring, it relies on a literary narrative thread and careful staging to go beyond the standard recital; a journey where instinct is the guide and music the compass.

Dancer, musician and choreographer, Aurélien Lehmann is a leading figure of contemporary tap dance. He was revealed at the Théâtre du Châtelet with Tap Virtuoso, in duo with pianist François-René Duchâble, and has won over audiences in France and abroad.

Author, choreographer and performer of Back to Tap, Rhythm on Fire and Soul Feet, and also a pianist, accordionist and singer, he raises tap to the rank of a musical instrument, from jazz to classical music, from the Châtelet and the Folies Bergère to the Festival de Las Ideas in Mexico and Birdland.
